The McVities was founded by John Cameron-Webb (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Anika Gerrits (lead vocals, melodica and percussion) and John Hayes (pedal steel, mandolin and vocals). Late in 2025 they were joined by Pieter Hiemstra (guitar, keyboard, accordion and vocals).
Three (or more) chords and the TruthFolk · Americana
Their music has its roots in folk and Americana, and ranges from intimate ballads to up-tempo songs. Although cookie experts may not associate the name McVities with folk and Americana, that perception tends to shift after attending a show of The McVities.
